The other day, I shared this poem on self-care.
I wanted to communicate not so much a disdain for pedicures and pretty things, but to contribute a bit of perspective to our conversations about self-care.
I think we deserve better than what we are giving ourselves, than what the world is marketing to us, when it comes to self-care. I think we need to rise up as women and claim our thinking, breathing, praying selves and consider what it really means to care for them fully.
We need to reject surface answers and simple solutions to the deep question of what do we need to give ourselves permission to do in order to know that we have loved our minds, bodies and spirits well.… Read the rest!
