It’s time from Five Minute Friday. That time of the week when me and a bunch of other amazing bloggers join up with Kate Motaung to write about a one word prompt for five minutes straight. This week’s prompt is NOTICE.
I admit there was a time I wrote from a place of wanting to be noticed. Not that the writing wasn’t real or authentic, but I put those words out into the world hoping you would notice them, notice me, over here, in Costa Rica, without any friends to hang out with.
I wrote and waited and wished you’d come relieve me of my loneliness, of feeling like I was talking into a vacuum.
But I have felt a shift lately. As the message of my time at Allume settled, I began to wonder what it meant to write from a space of hospitality–to live an “open door” in this online home. I prayed a lot.
And without really hearing a definitive answer or consciously planning to change anything, I find myself thinking more about you every time I sit down to write lately than I do about me.
What do you need to hear today? What does your Heavenly Father have for you that He might offer through me?
My heart is that rather than you coming to this space to notice me, that you will feel noticed here–seen, cherished, encouraged, welcomed.
Because, I do, I notice you. And I care about you and the time you take from your life to come here and read my words.
And I want those words to be less about me and more about the One who really deserves to be noticed. And I want you to leave here knowing that He has noticed you.
You are seen. You are loved.
You are noticed.
